Tips from your favorite Fort Worth family photographer


Easter is one of my favorite times of year for photos—there’s something magical about soft spring colors, blooming flowers, and kiddos dressed up for Easter Sunday, twirling through wildflowers or giggling next to a bunny prop. But let’s be honest… getting littles to smile and stay focused during their Easter pictures can feel like wrangling jellybeans in a windstorm.


Don’t worry—I’ve got you! As a photographer in Fort Worth who specializes in working with families, I’ve picked up a few tricks over the years. Here are my go-to tips for keeping your little ones happy, relaxed, and totally camera-ready during your Easter photo session:

1. Choose the Right Time of Day

Timing is everything—especially for toddlers and younger kids. I always recommend scheduling your session around your child’s happiest time. For most little ones, that’s mid-morning or post-nap. A well-rested kiddo makes all the difference during an Easter session!

2. Pack a Few (Non-Messy) Snacks

Snacks are a game changer! Choose something clean and easy to eat—think mini marshmallows, fruit snacks, or puffs. This keeps energy up and meltdowns down. Just be sure to avoid anything messy that could stain those adorable Easter outfits!


3. Bring a Familiar Toy or Comfort Item

If your child has a favorite stuffed animal or lovey, bring it along! It can be a lifesaver during a family photo session. Bonus points if it’s spring-themed—we once had a little boy bring his stuffed Easter Bunny and it ended up being the star of the session.

4. Set Realistic Expectations (and Keep it Fun!)

Hype your kids up before their session! Instead of saying, “Smile for the camera,” try making it feel like an adventure:

  • “Let’s go on a pretend Easter egg hunt!”
  • “Can you help me find the magic bunny ears?”
  • “I bet the Easter Bunny left a surprise for you!”

Framing it like a game helps kids relax and have fun—which always leads to the best, most natural Easter pictures.


5. Let Me Do the Heavy Lifting

I’ve photographed dozens of busy toddlers, shy kids, and wild ones who would rather be chasing butterflies. It’s totally okay! As your Fort Worth Easter photographer, I come prepared with silly tricks, bunny jokes, and yes… even fart noises if that’s what it takes to get those big belly laughs.


A Sweet Moment I’ll Never Forget:

This year during our Easter session, I had the cutest little guy named Kai 🐣💛

Forget the Easter Bunny—all he wanted to do was play with the plastic eggs… and try to eat them. 😂

He stacked them, rolled them, tossed them in the air, and proudly took pretend bites like they were the best snacks ever. It wasn’t what we planned—but it was absolutely perfect.

Because honestly? The best moments happen when we let kids be 100% themselves.

Kai gave us some of the most joyful, candid Easter pictures—and those memories? Pure gold. ✨
