There’s something so nostalgic and heartwarming about ice cream, especially when it brings back memories from childhood. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing a lifestyle ice cream photography session with Hope and her three kids—Wade, Piper, and Kinley. This ice cream family photoshoot was as sweet as it was fun!


When Hope reached out, she mentioned that her kids are usually quite shy. She loved the idea of an ice cream-themed photoshoot because it felt playful and would help them feel more comfortable. As a lifestyle family photographer in DFW, I knew this would be the perfect way to capture their personalities naturally.


Growing up, my dad would bring home ice cream sundaes whenever we had a rough day. This session brought back those happy memories for me, and it was so special to see Hope’s kids experience that same simple joy. The combination of ice cream, family fun, and photography created the perfect atmosphere for genuine, candid moments.

We set up at the kitchen table for the ice cream family session, where the real fun began! Kinley, the youngest, was especially thrilled with the cherries and sprinkles—can you blame her? The whole family dug into their colorful sundaes, and before long, the room was filled with giggles and sticky fingers.


Hope couldn’t stop smiling, not just because of the ice cream, but because she loved how friendly, patient, and sweet I was with her kiddos. As a family photographer in DFW, building a connection with families is incredibly important to me. I want everyone to feel relaxed and truly enjoy the experience, especially during creative sessions like this one.


We ended up with a wonderfully messy table and some of the most genuine, joy-filled photos. It’s amazing how ice cream photography can bring out the playful side in everyone—even the shy ones!


Looking back at the pictures from this ice cream lifestyle photoshoot, I can’t help but smile. Can you tell they loved the ice cream? These images are more than just photos—they’re memories that Hope and her family will cherish for years.
